derailment | 15kgs of ice | Rally | N96

I am not a rally person and the only rallies I attend are political rallies where waheshimiwas tell us nothing. Not that I hate mud, but the reason that I cant see those cars whizz by. It wasn’t my plan to end up in Makusa’s county….here is how and why!

Friday and the rain pulls an emergency downpour and funny thing is that there is no traffic. This is Nairobi and when it rains, everything shoots up, even Jimmy Gathu’s clande’s cost on his calculator…“Kumlipia taxi kukinyesha-thau tatu..thau TATU!!!”

Saturday and a brother gets set to go see Quins face Impala. Quins have been on a role and are becoming undefeated. The gazelles needed more than prayer for them to see off these funny-kitted players off the Enterprise cup. Mwamba had lost to Nondies days back and people like Serah have never stopped laughing at that defeat. Dark clouds are visible and the syke is so on!

Derailment

Mutunga Nguna picks me up and we agree we do some rounds at his den in Imara Daima. That was the beginning of my end. Sammy Mogusu, the guy that has stolen my sweater and headed to a west African country was to meet me and do a formal apology. My sincere apologies and please don’t give that sweater of mine to charity (nkt!)

Meet Robbie and a guy called Artur. This Artur character am told used to work in Iraq, then one day out of the blues some officials knocked at his door and informed him that he had 24 hours to vacate the country. The guy has never revealed why he was shown the red card…one day guys will tie you to an aelctric chair and force you to speak…or buy you rounds and invite female company. Utatoboka. He is great company.

Their local is funny, guys drink in the form of a mall. Bar kati-kati and shops up and surrounding at the top floors. We peep at a makali shop and here I pick up a new name for Napoleon…N-96!

Kamanza shows up. He has been singing of 15kilos of ice…instead of 15 kilos of meat. All who know the guy know of how he uses some profane kao words now and then. He runs a cool ranch down Machakos road, apt for those random get-aways…look for him!

Starts raining and here is where things get mixed up. No need to go watch rugby when getting rained on plus the jam. This is how cold feet are developed. (there..i apologized and gave my reasons…the likes of Julie, Felix, Kat, Yvonne and Arigi now you know!)

Abel Masya drops by, and with him came darkness. You just don’t press the door bell and the next thing is a power black-out. Am not sure even if it was Abel…fobe na giza! He throws some VIP passes our way for the rally before leaving and immediately he gets at the gate, power comes back!

6.50am and Kamanza wakes the whole apartment up! One may think he is the guy organizing the rally. He is all along talking of his 15 kilos of ice…

We joined by three nice chicks (name withheld lest Daniel Kioko searches and adds them as friends on Facebook!) and the safari begins. That’s at midday yet one Kamanza had been making noise since 7.00am.

Last time I talked bout Athis River, I mentioned dust and the clouds seemed to have favored them. Its muddy and I think that makes it much fun. You get that nice feeling when you see cars skidding and onlookers getting splashed on. Some carry crates of liquor and others even bring along a grilling and that baby-meko. I wonder if they also carry beds…maybe this is how they express their fanaticism. I liked it.

Solo and Maqbul have brought their Capital stand and are doing the crowd justice. Guy are being encouraged to open up accounts…am a fan of those pillow mattress accounts. Akiba haiozi.

Tony had some nice company…what was her name again?

Dama and Lutenda are around and have left Mutalii up some hill. Mutalii is that guy that drinks at a spot where one pays via MPesa. Our buddy Papa am told had an accident and he is seated some where with one leg broken. Ugua pole daddy. Kalua and my water bottle, I still want it back! Nzilany, the chick with a sweet cousin is alone today and in jeans. We wanted to see some legs…wait, this is the rally! Maurice is doing snaps ovyo-ovyo…me and him juanad way back when mchongoano.com was the isht, when K-list used to be our sole meeting point. Facebook has changed things.

Was humbled when one Mbithi guy called me Syoks. He was in the presence of family and such a gesture reminded me that its high time I started knowing all those people on my friendlist. Mbithi, great to bond with you.

It was an eyesore seeing kiddos sell Red Bull. Its rally, lets use the opportunity and not the kids to make money. I also bump on a kiddo who tells me to give him some chumes for food. Handouts are not cool and it also happens at Quins. High time we helped curb the vice.

Makusa and Laura who come from Athi river, it was great being in your county. Athi Diva was to get supper for us, donno what cut. Makusa and his pals are hiding at a corner in good company.

By the time the winner is announced, I can bet you a ¾ of the people were drunk. Some had left. Traffic maybe? Monday? It was funny seeing like three fights where the cars were parked. Am not a fan of rally so I donno who won.

Katho…you owe me an apology for passing me and almost splashing water on me….WEWE! you DOOMed!

Drove back and got passed by some guys in a Foresster who shoved a ndole in air for overtaking us only to meet them later in traffic. They so lucky we were good babies and not out to misbehave.

Did I say that all along Nguna was on twigs? Guy kept them in a freezer, together with the njugus. Today is his birthday. We celebrate you Nguna. 4 years ago we met via Facebook, you been an inspiration (you know how). Now stop playing and make me wear a suit at your wedding. I only have 3 suits, all from weddings.

It’s a week to payday. Those who have been saying of paying for the road trip better do so, starting with you Smitta!

Our 8-hour action is still in plan…eight hours to raise 100k is the plan. Click HERE for the info. We will give you the steps on how you can send those pesa and we help boost this project. Imagine if over 2,000 peeps sent 50 bob…that’s how we plan to work. Kidogo-kidogo! Its happening at the end of March.

Am out, keep warm and sleep dressed up like a honey-harvester!
