Well-In-Ton weekend!

It’s not everyday that I wake up, watch the telly for only 14-20 minutes and then pass out. Its not every morning that Syoks becomes the first worm to be caught by the early bird. Wellington 7s was a special case for a brother. The big boys were back, captain Khayange (I know it’s Kayange) had predicted in an interview, that the tournament was beginning for them. This is after coming home bila points after doing the Dubai and SA legs of the IRB series. Sidney, Biko and Collins were back on board. Talk of spicing up!

From Wednesday, Tonyango started a wisol trend. Chaps on Facebook kept correcting me that its ‘whistle-ling’ but we insisted it was wisol. Wisol is the wisol bit in the “My Kenya is Land” song that has a wisol section. Here it is, crunk it up!

Thursday night, no sleep! Whoever sleeps is the biggest Judas! Lenny texts me that he has his legs in the water basin and Tonyago is chewing miraa. Millie is dancing. Kathambi is all asleep but Facebooking. Things we do to stay awake!

First game at 3.00am, Kenya starts on a fair note, but then this is Samoa. Follow Australia who get saved by the referee for not wisoling! Peremende imekuwa firimbi! The lowest moment was when Tonga beats Kenya…Tonga twangas Kenya!!!

Yours truly decides no sleeping!

Meet up with Ngeno, Karomo and Mugo. We end up at a hidden spot called the Red Card Centre. This is where all the ngt community converse to share their latest spoils. Here is where you get to know who Ruto is, how much is the price of fertilizer and everyone you meet here starts with the name ‘K’. Ngeno is the patron and so he is the one deciding what share of drinks one needs to have. In other words, he is the chairman. I also meet a guy who comes from Kimetto’s area. Kimetto is the guy that had the best hairstyle ever spotted by a legislator. Great hanging out with you guys.

I end up in town, Kenya is back for the bowl category against Canada. Bump on Oliver, Maurice and other buddies and we start wisoling again. Canada seems to be winning and with 40 seconds to go, I take my final swig about to leave. This flips after Kenya pulls a comeback. This is Kenya, proud of you boys. What follows later is a series of wins against Scotland, with Biko Adema making sure he is at the top of the table in points. Biko leads the team against Tonga in the finals, a sweet revenge it is. Kenya 19- Tonga 0!

Being a journalist, I kept abreast with what the dailies were up to. One Ayumba just knows how to work out his words. Here are three recaps of the coverage. 1. 2. 3. As you read this, Lavin Asego and debutant Lawrence Buyachi are on their way to join the team, Kenya 7’s is on a roll.

Then there were these four Kenyan fans in red flying our national flag. Player 13 has always been a core part of the Kenya 7s. Even Kayange testifies. Kenya’s flag is sexy, PERIOD! Some odieros also stole action after painting themselves black and clad the Kenyan marathon tees. So unique!

Wonder what will happen in Las Vegas …all those Kenyans…then the CPR gig…with Deejay Joe Mfalme on the decks alongside Kriss Darling. If you are a Kenyan in Vegas, go out and cheer the boys, then evening go dunda at the hottest gig of the night! Mokuasi, do your things. Joan, Kate and all those fans on the other side, go ahead. Make us proud.

No sleep so far!

Mwamba are taking on Mean Machine. Four defeats and this one seemed like a revival of some sort. They fall down to the campus guys. Tonyango, I know you laughing as you read this, probably because you had lost 10 games. Then Kwambo goes with the jab ‘Ababu Namwamba ako na Mwamba’.. #ouch! All in all, Mwamba is my team, win or lose.

Kiarie, our coast-o bunny is in Nairobi. The guy has been all tensed in the city, dreading that a thug is at every corner. I hope he doesn’t get lost in the big city. Millie and Kadongo also show up in a car with a funny name. Millie is an artist by the way, and has a track. Can’t wait to hear it out. Please remember me when you become a superstar! Arigi on the other hand has been ailing from an identifiable flu for the past week and all he can say is ‘hoba’ instead of ‘homa.’ (swine) flu is contagious daddy, wacha kujifunika ngumi. Buy a duvet.

We end up at Parklands for some bhajia. Rihanna’s song seems to have swept this Asian community here. Every ride is playing it.

So far, no sleep!

MUFC are playing wolves. Their unbeaten reign comes to an end. One tweep jabs the best line ever… of a chick that preserves her virginity, kaziaring potentials…only to lose it to the shamba-boy of the hood! Tough one!

My body cant take it anymore, Syoks passes out!

Sunday, Warringah Rats from Australia are taking on Quins. Now, Quins is one team that has proved unbeatable. Julie (with her 3D photo) insists that they only do friendlies with international teams, which they beat. Ok, good one!

Here comes a new week, new challenges and new problems. Time to do a diary check. Bila plot for the coming weekend (recession imeisha), check out the following and choose fromJ
