Sea-Water, Cement Matters, Pokin Tim, #teamTusker

First of all, a minute of silence for our coast-o bunny…one JK…he is down with malaria. JK is the guy behind the A Million reasons why you should spare something to keep girls in school. I still believe the guy drank sea-water. Get well soon bro, those girls need you.

Bamburi RSS was coming to its end and the clash was well…fierce. Sharks ceased being sharks and became omenas thanks to our Ugandana burathas. Sharks and Cheetahs were meeting (again) for the finals. My favorites Lions had been reduced to pulp and joined the spectator stage. RFUEA was jam packed…somehow looked like schools have closed. Chicks from all walks of life are here. Tall. Short. Voluptios. Skinny. Meaty. Drunks. Nuns. Name them. They flowered the place. Good thing for Kenyan rugby. K-twedy-fo was doing the games live, which saved some people their 300 bob. The best thing with watching on Tv is they rewind and do all that stuff. Enough.

Game kicks off. Cheetahs manage some numbers, too bad all of them are mere kicks. Rhinos seem to be reading their opponent and Victor Sudi draws the real first blood. That run is memorable. With his size, I imagine him being a thug. He steals from you and of course jogs away…you can’t scream!

John Ahenda….what did that guy do to you? Yaani the tackler became the victim. Dude was knocked of his senses. Ahenda, Kenyan watched you. Even your landlord. Amekuogopa.

Tweeps are also present. I am yet to get how one can tweet while watching the game. Do you people always have like a template ready or what? Am talking about you Amasy

Cheetahs get the chance to either take the game to a sudden death….or fight to place the ball behind the line. Honestly, I would have fought to place that ball. From my own fuzzy calculations, Cheetahs must be weighing 1,500 kgs….Rhinos is double that. Do the maths. Please note the use of the words ‘my’ before some of you start telling me “si ungeingia ucheze…..”

Cheetahs lost. Good game played there. I hope Bamburi offered each of you a packet of simiti. A round of applause to corporates that support Kenyan sport.

Afterparty….and I meet some usual suspect. Puree has this brown hair that infatuates Tonyango. Tonyango has this security-like cardigan, he must have sneaked from work. Nyasubo is in a cool dress (or is it a mini?)….I insist you stop doing trousers, and let us drool at those legs. Eve....you the breed that deceived Adam! Conso, she of the ‘mwanaume ni…’ fame looks calm today. Mwamba seems to be letting her down of late. She is a die-hard fan. Lina is present, she seems to get shorter. Maybe the booze made me see that. it made me trip and almost forget Amiani. Fiona.....wapi nani?

Ralph is another one. Drink after drink. Pulse, Malenya and Love-enda are on the other side, sipping some poison. One guy is busy chewing khat and they offer me. Sorry, I have not yet done the fruits-of-my-loins duty…those twigs (I overheard) can mess one big time. Blanks. End of story.

Levi was a tournament official. For once I have seen the guy busy. Sasa lete hiyo pesa tukunywe…na simiti tujenge nayo….and thanks for the shots of Jack Daniels. Your plan to get me drunk and rob from me will never work. Riswo! Shindwe!

Quins Clubhouse gets swarmed. Small petite chicks stand out. Rugby is forever a crowd puller. This, I gather from the hours I had to queue at the washrooms. I foresee Sevens guys being offered a ka-potty at the entrance.

Mi-Lee, Kadongo and Kwambo are hanging next to the washrooms...kweli kumejaa. Ondiege looks lost, he reminds me am supposed to be in Machakos!

I noticed Julie Mwamburi is missing. Arigi pia. Felix pia. Nyamoitah pia. Kathambi…kweli hii mia tatu ilikuwa ngumu kupata. Start saving for Sevens!

Nguna joins the party. We was set to go to Machakos but got derailed. Its Mutua Ndungi’s birthday and am told the meat is finished, no need to come. Even the chicks have left. Robbie uplifts our spirits when he tells us that he is on his way to join us. Forget Machakos, and party like the rapture is hours away!

Myra and Barbara show up, they from Rhino Charge. How do you go for Rhino Charge when Rhinos are playing? Nzilani sticks up at the counter, am surprised she is taking water. She is from Kangundo. Legend has it that Kangundo women are ………………………

Maurice shows up, and Nguna rushes to pick his bag. Seen the way you fika upcountry and those peeps there welcome you and carry your mzigo….that’s Nguna. Typical character. Nguna is still on meds, no heavy drinking.

We head to Impala. Victor Mabwa is throwing a similar after-party here. I had earlier posted on #MKZ that the thongs some chicks had planned to rushia Fally Ipupa at Carni, they come and litter at Impala. This Mabwa character is fond of throwing mbuzi Saturdays. Follow his events in case you the random Saturday guy. Plenty of female company at his parties….plus the grounds and rugby stands offer ample green lodging. Last time we was here, Mitch Ochola and his accounting students robbed the bankers! Mitch has been on a winning spree. Good stuff Mitch!

Impala’s trophy cabinet looks empty, and only those old trophies grace the space. Reminds me of Arsenal’s cabinet. Their latest addition is from their female team. Impala has a female shoe standing next to a trophy. You guys stopped chasing a ball and are now after feminine wear?

Too much for the night, Syoks needs go home, but how he ends up at Psys….he has no idea! Love-Ender is here…she calls this her local. I bump on Tim Njiru. Tim is the Poken gadget guy. You watched the feature on KTN yesterday night. Poken is a media business card. It phases off the business card thing…all you have to do is to ‘mate’ two poken devices together and PAP! Mission complete. I feel proud to own something that the likes of Bob Call-Me-More have. Let me know if you want one.

Its 4.00pm. Waithera must be waiting for me, a mwiko in her right hand and a Bible in the other. The Bachelors we end up in town to buy chicken and fries. She loves chicken, and so do I.

The year is halfway... my new year resolutions are still a faint from being achieved. Same as yours.

Ps: if you have no plot for Wednesday, the Mpumalanga (what a name) Pumas will be playing…let us see how people rock in their official wears!

making friends....

I know its been long since I did a blog. Something happened when I came from celebrating my 19th birthday in #naxvegas and my baby also got a dose of the showering. I blame Joseph and Barbz…that sweet methylated thing that we started drinking on Sunday morning. It was my birthday, and am grateful for all who came through, those that were about to come through and those that are yet to come through. Amasy led the rest of the pack in washing me, he got a cold the next week! I don’t know what to pray for the rest to get. Amnesia maybe…may you suffer! Yvonne and Shishi…pia nyinyi…Sharon, Sophia and Ashera…stop wasting booze by washing me! Arigi..that was chang’aa you was drinking..it glazed my eyes! For peeps like JK (coast bunny), Alvin, Fiona and many others that laughed at me over my baby, karma is a b- and chenu chaja. .lesson learnt, the hard way. Onto other pressing matters…

Road trip was happening. I recall floating the idea months ago and I got overwhelming response. You should see my mailing list. Dear friends, next time some of you commit to doing something, avoid lip service. Sitaongea sana.

We leave Nairobi at 10.00am, two hours late. Women (oops!) and shopping. I seem to have chosen the wrong car as I was in the company of Sheela, Jackie and Bernard. They don’t drink, but they devour grubs. The other van was being driven by Evans and the peeps there had booze. I should have followed Issa’s advice and rode with them. Am still jealous! One would have thought they work as distributors. We pick Anne on the way. She stays on the outskirts of Nairobi yet in Nairobi.

Rift valley viewpoint and I get to see the great rift. In addition, the ladies lined themselves well and that doubled the viewpoint. Someone should open a pub at this point for I don’t see the reason for people just standing and gazing at escarpments. We make a stopover at Delamere…and head straight to that place where you also head to. We stumble on a cleaner there who greats us. I freak salamu za choo!

Kikopey, that place where meat leaves you with second thoughts. Evans seems connected with this guys and there is the nyama for kionjo. Reminds me of Burma market, you ingilia one entry and by the time you are at the other gate, you have sampled 1kg worth of meat from different people. Had a great time here. Kuna watu hukula ugali!!

The clouds start gathering and we get a call from Roberts Camp. Its raining and if we don’t speed up, we may find those small rivers blocking our way. Kind of freaks us out and we miss the chance to buy a torch in Nakuru. The torch story…well, read on. Had fun at the equator...someone wanted to follow it and see if she will get to Maseno....well...you will!

Laz was also on his trip those sides. Unfortunately, his ride is filled with guys while mine is graced by beautiful women. The deal is we meet halfway. I make a terrible mistake and doze. Dude cursed me…pole boss, ni usingizi wa porn-o ulionibeba!

We make it to the camp few seconds to 6.00pm and got an awakening welcome. Animals have right of way here and well, we have to co-exist. Other campers are here and that gives us enough motivation. There is a white couple with their two sons present and one of them is convinced by (silly) Evans that am a hippo. That idiero kid rushes to the paps and the paps tells him to go chase away the hippo…kid came and slapped me on the hand. It was a privilege. How many of you have shook hands with odieros?

One of the locals there reminds us that its mating season for the hippos. What a bad timing for our trip…the hippos get mad when mating…just like humans they have feelings. The waters coming to and from to the shore leaves me with evil thoughts…some pushing is happening under water (enough said)

Bernard becomes a tent guy. His name from this point is ‘tent-hooker’…he is a hooker of tents. Dude won the hearts of the chicks with his mastery in shifting tents. A fast meal and the fun begins….those campfire games….what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas…but let me share some funny dares…one Barnard (he says its BARNAD) was dared to go to a neighbors’ tent and steal a peg…dude almost did it!

Sheela and Jackie overheard some rustling and they freak…running. Lucy who was fondling her chupa also ran. We feel heroes enough and convince them to relax. Then came the second grunt from the hippos….everyone left! Evans runs to the car…and climbs! Tent-hooker seems unawares…and the rest run to the loos, even a Maasai guy that was there seems lost. 10 chicks wakatoshea kwa bafu…when coming back this Maa guy asks me “hata wewe mwanaume unakimbia….”…my response “hakuna cha u-man hapa”….Malkia Bee tripped her leg, and she had the Maa guy fixing it. She seemed to enjoy…and her screams at midnight must have sent the wrong messages to the other campers…Mary was just the funny one, being a medic at midnight! Since they work pamoja, she denies her a sick leave…uliteguka ukifanya nini?

We decide to sleep. More confusion. People never slept in their tents. A hippo was grazing next to our tent…kulinyamzwa!

Morning and the baridi starts biting us! We engage in stealing of blankets…some people woke up at 5.30am…early birds. The view is sweet, that sunrise! After breakfast, we hit the road…to Bogoria. Muthoni seems connected with these people, she almost buys a crate of eggs. Anne on the other hand eats them….wait till we drove back, won’t reveal! Some kalasingas are warming themselves bare-chested…am tempted to remove my shirt and display my one-pack! Only that am not hairy…

I warned people against eating those eggs! look at what happens when you don't listen...

Evans gets heated up and drives bare-chested. Tabia mbaya…that was the reason why we got stuck on the road after his ride drained off fuel. So here we are, in the middle of nowhere without fuel. We tembelea a ka-local that sells booze…they still have the old Tusker. Issa is such a fun chick when under duress…she changes the whole crisis to being a fun moment with crazy ideas...someone confuses a ka-local mama into riding with us…Lucy ----------------------->

< -----poor Muthoni Naserian.....tutafika Nairobi lini?

We get to Kikopey…and things take a twist. Anne…hehehe…next time fungua vizuri. The key splits into half and we miles away from Nairobi. So we first eat as the guys fix the issue…unfortunately, the steering locked. The spare key is in Nairobi. People have to get back home. We running out of time. God seemed to favor His children, and thanks to Lucy…we got sorted.

The next trip happens in August. Check out our page. Sponsors are invited. Even from condom companies (oops!)

typed using a friends PC...I miss my macbook! Kiarie drop that grin!

haba na haba kupata 100,000...here is how

About the Eight Hour Action

EIGHT hours of fun ONLINE! For the very first time in Kenya, the social media community (Facebook, twitter, FunKenya.COM) will come together to raise Ksh. 100,000.00 within 8 hours that will go towards helping a CBO based in Githurai, Nairobi!

And it is happening on 8th of April 2011…EIGHT hours on 8th :-)

How do we plan to raise that amount?

In the spirit of haba-na-haba hujaza kibaba, we are looking forward to engage people to donate their 1%...which could be 50 shillings or even 200 shillings. With as little as 50 bob you are able to support. Imagine if over 2,000 people gave 50 bob each (or more)…that’s how we plan to do it, doing great things in a small, simple ways.

Where will the event be?

We will have an OFFLINE community converge at the Nailab, which is located at the Bishop Magua centre along Ngong road (opposite Uchumi), where they will be working out on a plan for the project. Here we will have a co-creation workshop with people from the Lessismore project.

What project is being supported?

The funds will go towards the project Less is More, which is based at Githurai and trains its members on local waste management projects (cutting plastic waste and reselling it) for the people of Githurai. The funds will go towards training them in business, education, awareness and communications. Click on this link for more info about the project: http://bit.ly/hbRSZZ

Other online humanitarian initiatives done by Kenyans include the famine support by Zetu Deals where they are getting people to buy unga (flour) and mafuta (cooking oil) for families affected by drought in Kenya. This has proved to be a success and we sure our Eight Hour action will indeed bear fruits.
